Our Story
Carewann was founded by Ann Smith, RN, a registered nurse with over 25 years of experience across multiple levels of care, including pediatric care, geriatric care, and homehealth care. Her vision has always been to provide dependable, thoughtful, and heart-centeredcare in the comfort of home.
Ann’s journey in healthcare began at age 17, when she accepted a position as a nurse assistant in a nursing home. That early experience confirmed her calling to serve others and introduced her to the importance of compassionate, meaningful care during life’s most vulnerable moments.
Over the years, through dedication and continual growth, Ann’s career evolved through many roles, including nurse assistant, staffing coordinator, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse,care manager, nurse manager, and director of nursing.
Ann has remained deeply dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of home care with compassion and ease. That passion led her to found Carewann, a home careagency built on her vision of personalized care delivered in the comfort and familiarity of home.Under Ann’s leadership, Carewann serves people of all ages, supporting independence, overallwell-being, and peace of mind.
Outside of her professional work, Ann enjoys nature walks with her dogs, practicing yoga, gardening, and home design. She also enjoys listening to audio books and podcasts and has a strong interest in both functional and traditional medicine. She values exploring how foods and natural remedies can support well-being, which aligns with her holistic approach to care.
